Good new everyone! This Sunday finally it is going to happened!
THAT JUST HAPPENED is an art happening. It is an evening of experimental art, music, audio-visual stimulation, performance & everything in between.
Definition: A happening is a performance, event or situation meant to be considered art, usually as performance art. Happenings take place anywhere, and are often multi-disciplinary, with a nonlinear narrative and the active participation of the audience. Key elements of happenings are planned, but artists sometimes retain room for improvisation.
Allan Kaprow states: “happenings invite us to cast aside for a moment these proper manners and partake wholly in the real nature of the art and life.”
This unique event brings together musicians, artists & performers working across all disciplines.
ACT 1: Lachlan Bray
Lachlan Bray’s current work explores the medium of sound and spoken word. The content addresses his parochial upbringing and the characters he’s met along the way. This performance is an exploration into the vernacular of the nation and how it reflects identity.
ACT 2: Dismantled Exhaltation, with visuals by ART star (Christie Torrington)
ACT 3: Baby Lips & the Silhouettes, with live painting by David Crystalface, Cheung ha Lim & Christie Torrington (Christie made this)
Baby Lips and The Silhouettes play original off world jazz. Their harmonic and rhythmic structures represent the progressive cry of jazz from the outer and inner realms of the cosmos.Their poetry is the untold stories of the past mixed with daydreams of an as of yet unremembered future. Artists David Crystalface, Cheungha Lim & Christie Torrington will paint live, using the music of Baby Lips and The Silhouettes as inspiration.
